Trees allow for the regeneration of depleted soils, prevent erosion, enable proper water percolation,  establish a robust microclimates and provide new means of income. Agroforestry systems seek to optimize productivity of a piece of land.

Saġġar will engage with local farming communities, governmental authorities and international organisations to devise and implement an agriforestation initiative supporting the farming community.

The proper rehabilitation of our landscapes is only possible through proper cooperation that will benefit everyone. We will work to identify, research and prepare prior to afforestation, and ensure proper maintenance and monitoring after.

Landowners and local communities are important partners, who have real, tangible, and long-term interests in the success of rehabilitation of the Maltese landscapes. We will engage and work with willing  private landowners in rural and urban areas to encourage, advice, and support them to plant and manage trees on their land.

Saġġar aims to collaborate with local authorities and conservation E-NGOs to assist the rehabilitation and management of Ecological Reserves, natura 2000 sites and Tree Protected Areas. Ecological Nature Reserve also serve as a natural seedbank. We will seek to bring about international cooperation.
